As part of a serial comic book, this issue focuses on the character, Nikki, and her coming out story. After 7 years, her estranged half-sister has returned. Nikki has an argument with her father and runs to her room, where we see her grab a “Power Pups” jewelry box, a gift from her sister. In flashback, distinguished by the use of crayon, Nikki remembers when her sister first gave her the box and she’s reminded that she misses how her sister stood up for her and seemed to more like a sister.
