Neil Frosell

Interior + Spatial Design

Starting off my senior year at The Sage College of Albany, I faced some of the hardest times of my life. Not only did I end up losing my father to a lifelong addiction-related illness, but I also had to see many of my peers admitted into rehabilitation/mental health facilities. Going through all of these life events and being in and out of these facilities (while studying Interior + Spatial Design)has completely changed my perception. Not only has it changed in the medical field, but the design and function ability of it. Many things such as privacy, security, outdated/depressing design, and nowhere for these individuals to go after treatment has added to the vast substance abuse issues that we have within our country today. Throughout my Capstone project, my main focus was to fix these many issues, as well as develop a facility that can be there to help not only on the short-term, but a long one.
